Tangible View Cube

The Tangible View Cube was developed for Autodesk as a tool for client reviews of architectural models using Autodesk software. When reviewing a building model, a client can hold the Tangible View Cube in his/her hand and rotate it to control the orientation of the model displayed in Autodesk's software. The cube has a button on top that acts as a clutch to lock in a particular orientation when pressed. The Tangible View Cube makes rotating a digitally rendered architectural model as simple as rotating a cube in one's hand.

The Revit design team at Autodesk developed the concept for the Tangible View Cube, and contacted Patten Studio to develop a working prototype. Patten Studio developed the electronics and software API for the prototype, which Autodesk then integrated into its software. You can read more about the Tangible View Cube here and here.
